Mary Asante-Asamoah Recognized as a Top 10 Inspirational Woman In Mining Ghana

Executive Director of  Barbex Africa Projects Ltd., Mary Asante-Asamoah, has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Inspirational Women in Mining Ghana.

The prestigious honor was conferred on her by Women in Mining Ghana, a leading network promoting women’s advancement in Ghana’s extractive sector. It highlights Ms. Asante-Asamoahs’ significant contributions and her demonstrated leadership in the industry.

The citation of honor was presented at the 2024 Annual Women in Mining Conference held in Accra on Friday, June 7th. The event brought together key stakeholders and industry leaders to discuss gender-related issues and celebrate the achievements of women who have made outstanding contributions to the mining industry.

Presenting the award, the President of Women in Mining Ghana, Georgette Barnes Sakyi-Addo emphasized Ms. Asante-Asamoah’s efforts in promoting local content and supporting female students.

Mary Asante-Asamoah exemplifies the leadership, dedication, and passion that drive our industry forward. Her commitment to local content and mining support services in sector is commendable, and she serves as a powerful role model for women in this field.

Commenting on the recognition, Mary congratulated her fellow honorees and said,

This award is a testament to the hard work and perseverance of all women in the mining industry especially female-led mining support service providers. We play an intergral role in the ecosystem and happy to see our efforts being recognized. I see this as a challenge to do more and help grow our industry.
